Matansa blanks MP United in girls U15

Cousins Lyka and Angelica Sally teamed up with Pinyarat Shankweiler in lifting Matansa to its third victory in four games and handing MP United its fourth consecutive setback.
Angelica and Sally drilled the first two goals for MP United with the former finding the back of the net in the seventh and the latter nine minutes later. Shankweiler made it a 3-0 halftime lead, as she also scored just one minute after Lyka hit her lone goal in the match. Angelica then got her second goal in the 53rd minute to cap the rout.
Tan Holdings FC 12, Kanoa FC 4
Tan Holdings FC also secured a lopsided victory over Kanoa.
Tan Holdings had the game in the bag as early as the first half after firing 10 goals. Catherine Barrozo led Tan Holdings’ pounding of Kanoa, as she scored a hat-trick. Mary Kay Alferos, Krizel Mae Tuazon, and Emalyn Aniana added two goals apiece. Players who scored for Kanoa were not identified in the match report provided to Saipan Tribune.
Shirley’s FC 2, Paire FC 1
Shirley’s Football Club drew goals from two different players to slip past Paire FC.
Katherine Magat and De Jana Muna hit the board for Shirley’s to help the team bounce from its Week 3 loss to Matansa and hand Paire its first loss in four matches.
Magat drew first blood with her goal in the 34th minute, but Matansa failed to keep the lead when Guinevere Borja connected on her shot three minutes before the first half ended. Muna then broke the deadlock in the 65th minute and Matansa hung tight on defense to end Paire’s winning run.
CO-ED U12
Paire FC 3, MP United FC 2
In the U12 league, which is also being played at the Hopwood pitch, Paire edged MP United.
Jamin Elliot starred in the victory, as he scored all three goals for Paire. Elliot knocked down the hat-trick in the opening half with his first goal recorded in the third minute and the last two in the 12th and 31st minute.
MP United also registered its two goals in the first half with Jon Villagomez scoring in the seventh minute and Mark Esalan in the 41st.
In the other U12 match, Tan Holdings FC downed Kanoa FC, 3-1. Scorers for both teams were not listed, but the match report indicated the opposing teams got one goal apiece in the first half and Tan Holdings broke the tie by getting two goals in the second frame.
BOYS U18
MP United FC 10, Matansa FC 1
Over at the Oleai Sports Complex Field, MP United improved to 3-0 record, following a 10-1 thrashing of Matansa.
Seven different players contributed goals in MP United’s trouncing of Matansa FC. Andrew Johnson, Jehn Joyner, and Tanapon Unsa tallied two goals apiece, while Chris Park, John Diego Masga, David Yang, and Chan Woo Jeong chipped in one each. The match report did not indicate who scored the only goal for Matansa.
Tan Holdings FC 3, Paire FC 1
In the other U18 tiff, Tan Holdings outclassed Paire.
Yoshi Mafnas led Tan Holdings’ victory, as he scored the team’s last two goals in a span of three minutes. He made his first goal in the 86th minute and the second in the 89th, while Junsik Kim notched the other goal after lighting up the board in the 32nd. Joel Fruit registered the only goal for Paire one minute before the first half ended.
Meanwhile, only one match in the boys U15 division was played last Friday at the Oleai pitch with MP United beating Matansa FC, 2-0. Richard Chin and Ba Da Lee scored for MP United. The other game pitting Tan Holdings against Kanoa was rescheduled due to the unavailability of the field.
