CUC: Water samples free of coliform bacteria

Share

As the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. restores water service to an area of Saipan following Typhoon Vongfong, we monitor the water for coliform bacteria. On Oct. 7, 2014, CUC collected and tested 17 samples from As Matuis, Agag, Capital Hill, Gualo Rai, Upper Garapan, Kagman, Chalan Kiya, As Lito, Koblerville, and San Antonio for coliform bacteria. We did not find any of these bacteria in the samples.

CUC continues to work to bring water service to Dandan, Obyan, and Garapan. The CUC operations team apologizes for inconvenience resulting from these water service interruptions.

Please call the CUC Call Center at 664-4282 or Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality Safe Drinking Water branch at 664-8500 if you see large particles in your water or if your water is discolored. If your water is discolored, we recommend that you flush your water line for at least three minutes before using the water. (CUC)
