Talavera, Camacho tame SBC lanes
Perennial contenders Robert Talavera and Diana Camacho ruled the recently concluded two-day Budweiser Monthly King and Queen of the Lanes September roll-off held at the Saipan Bowling Center in San Jose.
It was the fourth monthly crown for Talavera and first since winning three straight from January to March, while Camacho nailed her third crown after back-to-back victories in June and July.

Talavera, a many time perfect gamer, posted a four-game total of 824 (221, 227, 213, 163) for a 206 average on the first day.
He did not play on the final day but his score survived the challenge of the 26 others that were chasing him for the monthly crown.
Talavera pocketed $90 after beating last month’s winner Percy Omechelang, who settled for $45, after falling short by 21 pitfalls.
Omechelang, who had a 679 on the first day, started slow in the final roll-off with a 182 but recovered with a pair of 201 and 212 before closing with a 208 for that 803 and a 200.75 average.
M.J. Aldan finished third with 794 (160, 205, 205, 224) to go home with $30. That was his best score after he only managed 725 (184, 167, 209, 165) on the final day.
Camacho, meanwhile, posted a 29-pinfall win over closest pursuer Yho Villavicencio to bag the $80 cash prize.
Camacho had a four-game total of 728 (161, 193, 224, 150) against Villavicencio’s 699 (208, 170, 161, 160).
Villavicencio, who did not play in the first day, won $35 while Gloria Omechelang came in third with a 671 (168, 183, 165, 155) good for $20. (Jon Perez)
