MarPac, Inc. will be holding its “3rd Annual Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Fair, and Daddies Too!” on Oct. 11, from 10am to 3pm at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.

Like every year, the highlight of the event is the Huggies Baby Costume Pageant where babies and their parents showcase their Huggies custom-made costume.

The pageant is open to all babies who still use diapers daily. Under the competition rules, costumes must be made out of Huggies diapers; using a diaper brand other than Huggies is cause for automatic disqualification. Limited slots are available.

Those who’d like to join may get a registration form at MarPac’s office in Gualo Rai. The office is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 12pm and from 1pm to 5pm.

Members of the public are also encouraged to save all UPC codes of any Huggies merchandise packaging like diaper case boxes, wrappers and Huggies wipes tubs to redeem free Huggies products, including baby wipes, T-shirts, bibs, and other merchandise during the event.

The “3rd Annual Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Fair, and Daddies Too!” will have games and raffle draws throughout the day. The games will include “Baby Crawling Contest,” last year’s crowd favorite game “Chocomilk Bottle Drinking Contest,” and a new game, “Cottonelle Diaper Making Contest” (Team of 2: One person to stand still, arms up, while the other uses one roll of toilet paper to make a diaper on him/her, encircling both his/her waist and legs. The team that creates the best-looking Cottonelle diaper in a certain number of seconds wins the game).

The event will have exciting and energetic performers from Keynotes School of Music, Golden Harvest Int. School and Daycare, Smart Start Daycare, 2013 NMI Got Talent grand prize winner Bernice Sabino, Pacific Flowers, and a Zumba demo from Uncle Ben’s Studio.

MarPac’s Michelle Villacrusis said the activity aims to promote healthy lifestyle changes and wellness in the CNMI.

MarPac is also inviting healthcare providers, insurance companies, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and childcare development centers to join the health fair.

As of today, 12 confirmed exhibitors have signified their intention to attend the event, Villacrusis said. They include H.O.M.E Visiting Program, NCD Bureau, Children Developmental Assistance Center, Commonwealth Cancer Association, CNMI Humanities’ Motheread/Fatheread Program, PSS Head Start, Golden Harvest Int. School & Daycare, Green Meadow School, Smart Start Daycare, DPH Immunization Program, NMC Nursing Club, and Marianas Eye Institute.

Aside from the health fair exhibitors, there will also be free health screenings ongoing during the event, Villacrusis said.

For example, NMC Nursing Club will be conducting blood pressure and blood sugar screening, Marianas Eye Institute will be conducting eye vision screening, and DPH-Immunization Program will be providing access to school-required flu and MMR vaccines to protect the community from different kinds of vaccine preventable diseases.

“The event is free to the community as well as to participating agencies and organizations,” said Villacrusis.

MarPac consumer sales manager Tom Basa reiterated that due to space limitations, only three slots remain for the event and the deadline to submit exhibitor registration forms is on Sept 30.

Lastly, the grand prize winner of Huggies & Enfamil’s current promotion will also be drawn at the event. Customers who purchase Huggies or Enfamil products at participating stores are eligible to enter the raffle draw. Raffle prizes at stake are a one-year supply of Enfamil and/or a one-year supply of Huggies Diapers and Wipes. The lucky names that shall be drawn must be present to win!
