With still no verdict reached yesterday in the jury trial of Raymond Borja Roberto, the 12 federal court jurors are going to resume their deliberations today, Friday, the eighth day.

The jurors are going to decide whether the 41-year-old Roberto is guilty or not of three counts of enticement of a minor to engage in prostitution and one count of witness tampering.

The jurors were excused late afternoon yesterday and ordered to resume their deliberations today, Friday, at 8am.

On Monday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office requested the court to allow them file documents under seal. Assistant U.S. attorney Ross K. Naughton said the documents concern a sensitive matter regarding the jury deliberations in this case.

U.S. District Court for the NMI designated judge David O. Carter granted the motion that same day.

Roberto is a former acting director of the Division of Fish and Wildlife.
