CUC: Low water supply in Tototville, Koblerville today
Residents of Tototville and some parts of Koblerville will likely have no water during half of the day today, Sept. 23, due to an emergency pump repair.
According to CUC acting water and wastewater division manager Richard Wasser, there will be limited water pressure and supply to Tototville and areas in Koblerville.
CUC water operations staff confirmed with Saipan Tribune that the Maui reservoir at Isley Field in Koblerville is broken. “There is a problem with the motor in the turbine area and it got burned,” they said.
According to CUC, they are waiting for parts to restore the pump and repair it and they should be receiving the parts today.
“We are also waiting for the water lines to go to Koblerville so residents can receive some more water,” CUC said.
According to CUC Water Operations, the water will be down for half of the day today and that they are transferring water from the north side to take up the slack
“We are fabricating the parts and it didn’t meet the time in restoring the water back to the residents but as of now there is still no estimated time of restoration,” CUC said.
Last Wednesday, two water booster tanks went down and caused limited water supply for Kannat Tabla, Fina Sisu, As Perdido, and Chalan Lau Lau. The water supply was restored later in the afternoon of Sept. 17.
“CUC’s operations team is working to restore services to our customers as soon as possible and apologizes for the inconvenience resulting from this water service interruption,” Wasser said.
