Important dates and activities for MHS

– May 11: JROTC Change of Command Ceremony

– May 15: Teen Truth Live- Student Assembly on Bullying, Drugs, and Alcohol- MHS Gym. Parents, there will be a video showing of the Columbine school shooting incident that presenters will use as part of their anti-violence presentation. If you do not want your child to see this video clip, fill out the Parental Permission Slip that will be sent out to students this today.

– May 15, 2012: PTSA meeting, 5pm-6pm at the MHS Gym.

– May 16: HPV vaccinations for female students at MHS. Parents, please sign consent forms if you would like your daughter to receive these series of vaccinations.

– May 21-25: Standards Based Assessment for all MHS students.

– May 30-31: Senior graduation practice, 8:30am-12pm.

– June 1: Awards ceremony for graduating seniors, MHS Gym, 10am

– June 4: MHS graduation, 4pm, MHS Gym

– June 11: Last day of classes for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders (PR)

Music school to hold Mother’s Day recital

Li’l Hands School of Music will be staging its 6th Annual Musical Recital-A Mother’s Day Tribute this Sunday, May 13, at the American Memorial Park Theater.

The recital starts at 3pm and will feature Li’l Hands musical talents honoring their mothers with piano performances, songs, and even some dances.

Main sponsors for the annual musical event are HBR International and National Office Supply. (PR)

MHS Class of ’83 to host trash-a-thon

This is to invite Marianas High School Class of 1983 for Trash-A-Thon this coming May 26, 2012, Saturday, at 2pm at the Civic Center Beach Pavilion. Also, we’re looking for softball alumni teams this coming June 2012. You may contact Tonnei Camacho at 483-9665 for more details. (PR)

NMC graduation important dates

The Northern Marianas College is inviting all community members to its 32nd Commencement Exercise on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 4pm at the Marianas High School Gymnasium. The college is also reminding all graduating NMC students to note the following important dates:

– May 15, Tuesday: Graduation Class meeting, 4pm in Room D-1 (NMC As Terlaje campus)

– May 17, Thursday: Graduation Mass, 3pm at San Vicente Church

– May 18, Friday: Graduation rehearsal, 4pm at the MHS Gym

– May 19, Saturday: NMC 32nd Commencement Exercise, 4pm at the MHS Gym

Graduation candidates are advised to arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the NMC graduation Mass and graduation rehearsal, and one hour prior to the start of the commencement exercise. Candidates are also encouraged to wear their graduation gowns to the Graduation Mass. (NMC)
