Bennett’s big mouth
First things first. Ambrose Bennett is a racist! Second, for someone as educated as you are, did you ever do any research for anything you’ve written like maybe a book report or a term paper when you were going to school? Have you ever met Willie Tan or any member of his family? I doubt it.
I wanna start off with my “racist” comment. As an African-American, your people have suffered great indignities over the years as being slaves, fodder for white bigots, etc. I really find it sad that an educated man, as you claim to be, would resort to ranting and raving about Willie Tan giving birth to a “great Chinese financial monster”! Poor Willie. I can only imagine the pains he suffered while in labor.
You are giving credence to the fact that black people are the biggest racists of all! You claim you were informed that Willie owns majority shares of Herman’s and Joeten. Let me ask who informed you? Another Chinese? Or maybe a disgruntled local who owes Willie money or who did not get a loan from him? Are you aware that the Bill of Rights gives anyone accused of any wrongdoing a “right to face his accuser”? Who are you talking about? I hope Willie sues you.
Did you ever think of becoming a fiction writer, or novelist? Hell, let’s call James Patterson and ask if you could co-author another Alex Cross story.
You are not only a racist but you are a liar as well. Consider my suggestion and become a writer of fiction because that’s all that your letter is—a work of fiction. As the PIO for the Democratic Party, why not talk of your candidates’ contributions to the community or what their platform is for rescuing the CNMI. I can also tell you facts about your candidates that would make you blush but I don’t operate like you. If I did, I would tell you to ask how Doug Montgomery is doing. Actually, you give Democracts a bad name.
How about some facts?
Fact No. 1: Willie Tan, or Tan Holdings, currently or in the past, has never held a single share of Herman’s or Joeten’s. Never has and probably never will.
Fact No. 2: Willie, or the “great Chinese financial monster” that you call it (sorry, milk came out of my nose while laughing at this accusation), is more local than you’ll ever be. Yeah, you married a nice local lady and have kids that any parent would be proud of, but you’re not local. You weren’t born or raised in the Mariana Islands, including Guam.
Now I can’t speak for any other members of the Tan family but I know for a “fact” that both Willie and his brother Jerry were raised in Guam, went to and graduated at local public high schools, not private schools.
Willie went to George Washington High School and Jerry went to JFK. They both graduated with honors. They both went on and graduated with honors from the University of Guam. That sounds kinda local, right?
Another thing you might find interesting is that they’re U.S. citizens. Blue passport and all.
Fact No. 3: With the exception of buying a couple of hotels that were going under to begin with, Willie Tan, or Tan Holdings, started most of all the businesses under the umbrella of Tan Holdings group of companies.
I know for a fact that Century Group, which consists of Century Insurance and Century Travel, were built from the ground up. Century Insurance was the only locally owned insurance company while the bulk of the other insurance companies are “brokers,” which means that they sell insurance from other insurance companies. Century Insurance had the bulk of other insurance companies working as brokers for them.
I also think you should do a little research on all the businesses under the L&T group of companies.
I could go on and on but the bottom line is this: the Tan Holdings group of companies have contributed more to this community than any other company or individual. Including you.
They have a special foundation where they donate hundreds of thousands of dollars toward education and charity organizations.
I could give the history of Tan Holdings group of companies but it would take up too much room in the paper that they’d have to publish it in at least three issues.
You make yourself out to be a soothsayer who has predicted everything bad that has ever happened, like you’re some kind of “oracle” from Greek mythology.
You talk about business when your own failed, miserably.
And how dare you talk about our current governor the way you do. He didn’t ask for this job. It was forced down his throat because of the real villain, Ben Fitial. Eloy inos is one of the most honest, sincere and hardworking man I know! He’s cleaning up Fitial’s mess while being sick. Having dialysis treatments several times a week! And still makes time to take care of business. And the only reason he’s running is because he is not a quitter. When he starts something, he makes sure he finishes it to the best of his abilities.
If your actions and rantings and ravings are any indication of the way you taught your students, God help us! It seems the only time you write is to insult, accuse, bad-mouth, etc. It’s like you have this disease or psychological condition to just say the first negative thing you can think of just to see your name in the paper.
And in regards to Willie, dude, you don’t even know Willie Tan. You’ve never had the privilege or the honor of meeting him. Plus, you are not even a fraction of the type of man he is. When he does things, like helping most of the people he has, he never wants the glory or praise that most people do.
Let me give you an example, which I know Willie wouldn’t like made public. I suffer from a disease for which there is no cure. It’s a disease that affects my spinal cord and because of it, I’ve had to spend a lot of time in wheelchairs.
He saw me coming in on the same flight from Guam and I was using my own chair. He told the attendant pushing me to move and he would push me himself. While pushing me, he asked how I was doing and things of that nature and when we got to Customs, he and I said goodbye and that was it.
Three weeks later, I received an anonymous phone call telling me there was a package at the airport waiting for me. I went and got the package and inside was a brand new electric wheelchair—no note, nothing. I didn’t find out who did it for almost a month. When I finally got a hold of him to thank him, he said it was nothing and to just take care and get healthy. Up to now, that’s all he’s concerned with. Me to get healthy.
I could go on and on but you’re really not worth the time or effort.
Your problem, Bennett, is you continually let your mouth write checks that your ass can’t cash.
