The Route 33 Armatech Hustler completed a 12-3 demolition of Jhonny’s Team SCS to join Smoke Pub Magic 8 Ball on top of the 2014 Budweiser Open 8-Ball Thursday League.
Team SCS kept the game close after the first five singles matches and two doubles pairings as they were only trailing by 1, 4-3, with the second five-game series in the singles event about to start.
But one by one the Jhonny’s crew lost to their Armatech opponents dropping all five games to wrap up the contest.
The final three doubles matches, which was still played since each win will reflect on the standings, also failed to help Team SCS’ bid to climb out of the cellar in the eight-team field.
The Hustler has already compiled a 37-23 won-loss record to join Smoke Pub Magic 8 Ball on top, while Jhonny’s dropped to 16-41.
In other results, the Magic 8 Ball squeezed out an 8-7 decision over the Barcode Breakers; the Jokers Homeboyz drubbed National Alamo Car Rental, 11-4; while Wild Bill’s trounced the Poseidon Titans, 12-3.
The Homeboyz are two wins behind the leaders at 35-25, while Wild Bill’s and the Titans are at fourth and fifth spots with 32-28 and 30-30 records, respectively, while the Barcode Breakers (27-33) and National Alamo Car Rental (26-34) are at sixth and seventh.
In the Tuesday League, the Jokers IT&E Voyagers coasted to a 12-3 win over the Smoke Pub Sang&D’Gang to remain on top with a 43-17 mark, while their opponents dropped to 17-43 at fifth place.
The Saipan TV Hustler is in second place with a 41-19 slate after scoring a 14-1 thrashing over the Smoke Pub Lanchera Girls.
The Jokers Str8 Shooters clipped Jhonny’s Crazy 8, 10-5, to stay in title contention with a 40-20 card. The Crazy 8 are at fifth with a 27-33 record.
