Registration is still open for the 2014 edition of the Saipan International School Fun Run to be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, starting 7am at the Banzai Cliff in Marpi.

Late registrants, who failed to sign up at SIS, can still join but have to be at Banzai Cliff as early as 6am. The $10 entry fee entitles the first 130 participants an event T-shirt.

Lunch and dinner gift certificates from various hotels will be given away to the lucky finishers.

Other gift certificates to be given away are from Mandi Spa, Duty Free Shoppers Saipan, Coffee Room, National Office Supply, Okadaya, Fishing Tackle, and Subway.

Two years ago, the annual fun run attracted a total of 253 runners to surpass the 199 turnout in 2011.

Sean Smith completed the 3.5-mile race in 20 minutes and 54 seconds to top the men’s division, while Mamiko Oshima-Berger ruled the women’s class in 22:45.

Sean Hill and Juliana Hall (Under-8), Misaki Kitami and Malika Miyawaki (U12), Daniel Lim, and Adelle Hudkins (U18) were the age group winners in the boys and girls divisions. (Jon Perez)
