Former and current government employees were all smiles as they fell in line Friday afternoon to get their paper checks representing interest payments for their withdrawn defined benefit plan contributions.

Acting press secretary Ivan Blanco said only those who haven’t filed their Form W9 won’t get their checks.

“Finance wishes to express its appreciation to all who received their funds today for their patience and understanding,” Blanco told Saipan Tribune.

DB members interviewed while in line or after they got their checks said they will use the money for their children’s schooling and pay their bills. Others said they will put their money in the bank.
