MINA Green Gala garners more support
As a sign of further support from the island’s business community, Pena House Boutique and Casa Urashima recently donated in kind prizes and dinner certificates to the Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance.
The donation was made as part of MINA’s annual fundraising event, the Green Gala, which will be held on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014.
“We are extremely thankful to both Pena House Boutique and Casa Urashima for their demonstrated commitment to our organization and efforts,” said Brooke Nevitt, MINA interim executive director.
“The work we are doing to sustain the natural environment is made possible through the support from established businesses such as Pena House Boutique and Casa Urashima.”
The leading conservation nonprofit organization in the Commonwealth, MINA has successfully implemented many projects, including the Obyan Rehabilitation Project, the Teacher Environmental Camp, the Marine Debris Prevention program, and the Tasi Watch Project.
In order to continue its efforts to preserve and protect the CNMI’s fragile environment and biodiversity, MINA is seeking the community’s participation in the Green Gala event.
The organization is supported by project grants and from generous contributions from local businesses and community members. In addition to lively entertainment, dinner, and a variety of beverages, the Green Gala will feature brief highlights from MINA’s projects, a silent auction, and many other activities that promise a memorable evening.
Last year’s Green Gala was sold out, so organizers are encouraging those who plan to attend to buy their tickets early.
Tickets for the Green Gala event can be purchased at the MINA Office in Gualo Rai or from any of the volunteer board members.
There are four categories of sponsorship (Emerald, Title, Major, and Sponsor categories) that correspond to the value of companies’ contribution. To become a sponsor of the event, please contact Brooke Nevitt at 233-REEF (7333), or email castro.fran@gmail.com. (MINA)
