The U.S. Probation has once again sought the revocation of the supervised release of Ryan T. Babauta, an ex-convict who is on federal probation, for allegedly violating supervision conditions.

U.S. probation officer Gregory Arriola informed the U.S. District Court for the NMI that Babauta submitted a diluted urine sample during a random drug test on July 14, 2014.

Arriola said that Babauta also failed to appear for counseling sessions on July 29, Aug. 2, Aug. 5, Aug. 6, and Aug. 7, 2014.

The defendant did not appear for random drug testing on Aug. 3, 2014.

He also allegedly failed to follow the instructions of the probation officer by not submitting a monthly supervision report within the first week of August and not reporting to the U.S. Probation Office as directed.

Last January, the federal court revoked Babauta’s supervised release and slapped him with a six-month prison term for using illegal drugs and violating other terms of his probation.

U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona also ordered that after completing his prison term, Babauta would be placed on supervised release for 54 months.

In March 2009, Babauta was among seven prisoners who staged a 14-hour hostage drama at the Department of Corrections in Susupe. At the time, he was serving a prison term for involuntary manslaughter over the killing of a Bangladeshi national in Chalan Kanoa.

In August 1999, the federal court slapped Babauta with 180-month prison sentence and five years of supervised release, for hostage taking and felon in possession of a firearm.
