Sabino to perform in Little Miss Pusong Pinoy
The grand prize winner of the 2013 CNMI Got Talent competition will be one of the guest performers in this Sunday’s 2014 Little Miss Pusong Pinoy at the Saipan World Resort in Susupe.
Bernice Shane Sabino, whose soaring rendition of O Holy Night bested 11 other performances in the talent competition sponsored by Bridge Capital LLC in December, will be singing a couple of songs with her brother Gio during the Valentine’s Day event.
Sabino’s win in the talent search last Dec. 14 was her second in a competition in 2013, as she also ran away with the 2013 Little Miss Philippines title earlier in the year.
The 2014 Little Miss Pusong Pinoy, meanwhile, is Gio Sabino’s first-ever public performance.
Also expected to perform are Jiro and Jea Montenejo, who will be dancing.
Like Sabino, the Montenejos are students of the Saipan Music & Dance Studio along Middle Road in Garapan.
United Filipino Organization president Annamae Adaza said that all is set for the 2014 Little Miss Pusong Pinoy, sponsored by Docomo Pacific and LBC Mabuhay this Sunday.
She said the 20 candidates vying for the competition have been practicing earnestly at the Saipan Music & Dance Studio as the days prior to the pageant winds down.
The 2013 Little Miss Pusong Pinoy candidates will compete for eight special awards: Miss Photogenic, Miss Friendship, Darling of the Crowd, Star of the Night, LBC’s Best in Smile, Docomo’s Spirit Award, Best in Talent, and Best in Evening Gown.
The grand prize winner will receive $800; first runner-up, $500; second runner-up, $300; third runner-up, $100; and fourth runner-up, $100. Non-winners will be presented with consolation cash prizes, certificates of participation, and gift packs from Natasha Service Center.
