MINA thanks Hyatt for $7.5K donation

Mariana Islands Nature Alliance extended yesterday its gratitude to Hyatt Regency Saipan for its $7,500 donation to the leading conservation, nonprofit organization in the CNMI.
“We are extremely grateful that Hyatt had selected MINA to be the beneficiary of the company’s 33rd anniversary dinner which was held last December. The event, which was sold out, was both elegant and entertaining,” said MINA chair Frankie Eliptico in an email to Saipan Tribune.
Hyatt’s 33rd anniversary party, dubbed “Heart of Gold,” was held on Dec. 2 at the Garapan hotel’s SandCastle Theater.
“On behalf of the hotel, I would like to thank our 33rd anniversary guests, associates, stakeholders, and MINA for giving us this opportunity to be of great help to the beautification our islands,” said Hyatt general manager Nick Nishikawa.
He said the donation is in line with the precepts of the hotel’s Hyatt Thrive philosophy. “Hyatt Regency Saipan takes pride in giving back to the community.”
Eliptico said the money donated will help the group sustain its many environmental projects.
“MINA will be using the funds to pay for expenses related to our recycling projects, conservation initiatives, and other critical activities that advance the protection of the CNMI precious natural resources. We look forward to partnering with Hyatt throughout the year on a number of projects, including one that is being planned for sometime in April.”
Hyatt’s 33rd Anniversary “Heart of Gold” event was attended by more than 200 guests.
