McCreadie succeeds in passage of WICHE resolution
GUAM—After three months of discussion regarding Guam’s membership in the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education, Sen. Brant T. McCreadie successfully saw Resolution 234-32 through session Friday at the Guam Legislature.
“My staff and I have worked tirelessly since the filing of Resolution 234-32 to get to this point today. We are now one step closer to reduced tuition rates for residents for an off-island education,” said McCreadie. “The next step is for the University of Guam and the Guam Community College to agree that our college bound students deserve this opportunity and to open that door a little further to areas of study not offered locally.”
With the approvals to join WICHE from the Legislature, the University of Guam, the Guam Community College, and the Governor, more opportunities will arise for a higher education not just for high school graduates, but for any qualified applicants seeking an undergraduate degree, a graduate degree, a professional degree in a health field of study, and for those that prefer online courses of study.
