The United Filipino Organization is looking to the local business community anew for sponsorship of cash prizes for the 2014 Little Miss Pusong Pinoy as well as in-kind raffle prizes for the Pusong Pinoy festivities on Feb. 16.

“With almost two weeks left for the preparations we’re still looking for donors that can help us with cash prizes and [in-kind prizes] for the raffle,” said UFO president Annamae Adaza.

While the 2014 Pusong Pinoy main event has Docomo Pacific and LBC Mabuhay as its main sponsors, Daza said they still have a long way to go as far as sponsorship for the prizes are concerned.

“It’s the third year of celebrating the Pusong Pinoy event and we are so lucky that Docomo Pacific is still our major sponsor and in cooperation with LBC Mabuhay again. Our 20 lovely candidates will be vying for the title of Little Miss Pusong Pinoy 2014. We’re currently having three-times-a-week rehearsal at the Saipan Music & Dance studio in Garapan.”

The 20 candidates will compete for eight special awards: Miss Photogenic, Miss Friendship, Darling of the Crowd, Star of the Night, LBC’s Best in Smile, Docomo’s Spirit Award, Best in Talent, and Best in Evening Gown.

The grand prize winner will receive $800; first runner-up, $500; second runner-up, $300; third runner-up, $100; and fourth runner-up, $100.

Non-winners will be presented with consolation cash prizes, certificates of participation, and gift packs from Natasha Service Center.

Adaza is inviting not only the Filipino community on Saipan but the entire community to join them on Feb. 16 and take part in the 2014 Pusong Pinoy festivities.

“The event posters are already out and hopefully a lot of people will join us for our event with $1 entrance fee, which entitles them to a raffle ticket with great prizes.”

Those wishing to donate cash prizes for the 2014 Little Miss Pusong Pinoy and in-kind raffle prizes for the Pusong Pinoy festivities may call Adaza at 483-5237, Mario Mayuga at 285-1021, event director Ernie Molina at 789-8212, or Ester Sablan at 789-5553. (Mark Rabago)
