Soroptimist International Northern Mariana Islands’ first-ever community project with the Girls Scouts of the CNMI will push through this Sunday at Room 604 of the Marianas Business Plaza in Susupe.

Jill Arenovski, the president of the local chapter of the Soroptimist group, expects more than 20 Girls Scouts to attend the scrapbook-making activity they have this weekend.

She hopes a handful of Soroptimist volunteers will also show up for the event, which she promises will be an enjoyable time for everyone.

“Hopefully I have at least a half dozen volunteers and will set the album assembly in stations. First they will select the paper, then score it, cut it, punch the holes, bind it together with ribbon, and then personalize it. It will be a bit crazy and loud but I expect the girls and the volunteers will have a wonderful time. Paper-crafting is like kindergarten for adults!”
