Watch out!

I just wanted to warn my cyclist friends and anyone else out there to be careful when walking, riding or running south past the Hafadai Hotel in Garapan. Today I was almost hit by a van making an illegal left-hand turn out of the parking lot despite the three signs posted saying either “No left turn” or “Right turn only” and the median in the middle of the road which extends north past the exit. When I went to complain to the security guard, he said I needed to complain to the front desk. They said the person I needed to talk to was off today. Have you ever had a situation like this? You’re either going to give up or just get madder. When I pursued it, the clerk went in the office to speak to someone, but then came out and told me they don’t speak enough English to hear my concern. As this was all happening, a large tour bus exited left out of the parking lot. If I hadn’t already been hit by a car five months ago, I suppose I would have let it go, but in this case, I wanted to warn people to be careful crossing in front of this hotel just in case the signs are being ignored.
