MCS gears up for ‘Night with the Knights’
Mount Carmel School is gearing up for its upcoming “Night with the Knights,” a fundraising banquet that this year will feature a special show and an important initiative for the institution.
The school’s alumni, referred to as AlumKnights, have been meeting for months to prepare for the event, which will also cap the school’s celebration of Catholic Schools Week for 2014.
The “Night with the Knights” is slated for Feb. 1 at Fiesta Resort & Spa’s Hibiscus Hall.
“We’re very excited about the event and we look forward to all our fellow AlumKnights having a great time. We take great pride in our island’s only Catholic school and are willing to give back to a school that gave us so much,” said 1990 AlumKnight and MCS Director of Institutional Development John Blanco.
According to Blanco, this year’s “Night with the Knights” will feature a school uniform fashion show, a music video montage of the school’s history, raffle prizes, and entertainment with a live band.
The night will also be used to launch a capital campaign to renovate the school’s historic stage, which was recently reopened after a 20-year hiatus. The stage is where the CNMI’s Covenant and Constitution were signed.
The event will also include the announcement of the 2014 AlumKnight of the Year. Formerly known as the Distinguished Graduate Award, nominations for the prestigious award have been expanded to include AlumKnights who spent at least four consecutive years at the school.
Tickets for “Night with the Knights” are $30 per person, with the option of upgrading to $400 for a reserved table of eight. Tickets are available at the school’s Business Office. To reserve a ticket or for more information email johnsblanco@gmail.com.
