The Pacific Islands Club Saipan held a soft opening for Isla, an upscale teppanyaki restaurant, offering guests a sophisticated and elegant dining experience.

Steve Balakrishna, director of Food & Beverage, said, “The Isla cuisine features traditional Japanese ingredients, fresh local products, CAB steak and seafood.”

“The Isla Restaurant’s design took inspiration from the islands’ tropical forests, important for both the food and shelter that they provide,” said Vicky Benavente, PIC executive assistant.

The restaurant’s symmetrical design showcases light projections, which appear as though the sun is shining through the branches of a tree.

The contractor for the project was RNV Construction, and the design and construction management was provided by N15 Architects. “We held a soft opening a few weeks ago and are planning a grand opening in the early part of 2014,” Benavente said.

The Isla restaurant is open daily from 5:30pm to 9pm. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting Maung San Din at telephone number 234‐7976 Ext. 4126 or 5186. (PIC)
