The Senate is poised to confirm during its session on Rota today Gov. Eloy S. Inos’ Superior Court associate judge-appointee Teresa Kim-Tenorio, Labor secretary-nominee Edith DeLeon Guerrero, and two other board nominees.

Sen. Frank Cruz (R-Tinian), chairman of the Senate Committee on Executive Appointments and Government Investigations, said yesterday that the panel recommended to the full Senate the confirmation of four governor’s nominees.

Besides Kim-enorio and DeLeon Guerrero, the two other nominees up for Senate confirmation this afternoon are Roy Rios, who will serve another term as a member of the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. board, and Ignacio L. Perez, who will serve on the Commonwealth Development Authority board representing Tinian.

Press secretary Angel Demapan said yesterday that the governor will also be on Rota for the Senate session.

The nominees, especially Kim-Tenorio and DeLeon Guerrero, received overwhelming support from community members during a Senate EAGI panel’s public hearing on their nomination.

Once confirmed by the full Senate and sworn in, Kim-Tenorio would be the only woman in the Superior Court. Kim-Tenorio is currently legal counsel for Inos and when he was still lieutenant governor.
