It is officially the holiday season!

Brilliant Star School will kick off the holiday season with the Holiday Bazaar this Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Multi-Purpose Center from 9am until 5pm. The annual event showcases the arts of local artists and wares of other vendors, and allows island residents and visitors to buy unique and beautiful gifts for the holidays.

This year’s Bazaar has drawn some new vendors and shoppers will have their pick of photographs by Mike Ronesia, island crafts and jewelry of Tokie Mojica and Martin Castro, Liqueurs from Island Infusions, gourmet candy and gift baskets by Michelle Sablan, leaf paintings, Flowerpot Creations, hand-stamped and knitted items and Mary Kay products from Jill Arenovsky, handicrafts from Wang Jing Corp., jewelry and Christmas items from Nora Javier, handmade signs by Tammy James, Brad’s block prints, art by regulars Joe Kani and Jeanne Rayphand, handmade flowers by Dolores Cruz, handmade products from recycled paper by Sylvia Daguatan, illustrated story books by Skye Seo, and much more.

Throughout the day entertainment will be provided by a variety of local performers including Doremi School of Music, a tai chi demonstration, Pacific Flowers, Saipan Music and Dance, Glushko’s Academy of Performing Arts, Zumba, MHS Pep Band, MHS Glee Club, magician Prince, a piano performance by Cloency, a ukulele performance by Larry Lee and his group, and more.

Parents who want to have a little personal shopping time can drop their child off in the arts and crafts area, where the children can have their pick of a variety of art projects.

Shoppers have a chance to win items such as beautiful handmade jewelry, local artwork, and gift certificates from local restaurants in the hourly raffle drawings.

“We’d like to thank everyone in advance for making this event possible: the vendors, the businesses who donated items for the raffle, the entertainers, and our parents who helped organize the event. It is my favorite event to organize, I look forward to this event all year,” said Richard Sikkel, principal of Brilliant Start School. “This event gets us all in the holiday spirit.” (PR)
