Joeten & Daidai Foundation donates $10K to victims of Haiyan
The Joeten & Daidai Foundation has generously donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross to be specifically used in the international relief efforts for supertyphoon Haiyan (Yolanda) victims in the Philippines.
“This is a major disaster and one that we feel hits close to home, as many of our employees have family in the major regions affected and so we think this is the best way we can help those in need,” said Frances Demapan, president of the Joeten & Daidai Foundation.
The Joeten & Daidai Foundation will donate the funds directly to the American Red Cross International Services, which deploys disaster experts, mobilizes relief supplies, and reconnects families that have been separated by disaster.
ARC-NMI Chapter executive director John Hirsh said that the resources are going to go a long way in terms of immediate relief but more importantly, for the longer term recovery with building homes, cisterns, and water and sewer systems.
“Our hearts go out to those who are struggling to deal with this horrific event that has caused so much destruction that we appreciate the generous support of the Joeten & Daidai Foundation,” Hirsh said.
The Joeten & Daidai Foundation, formerly known as the Joeten Charitable Foundation, was established in 1994 to promote the advancement of education, religion, health, wellness and other efforts related to the social welfare of the community. This will be the first donation made under the new name.
