Free health screenings, referrals for women at the Sabalu Market

Stop by the Sabalu Market in Susupe today, Sept. 3, from 6am to 11am and learn more about breast and cervical health and wellness.

The Commonwealth Cancer Association’s trained outreach volunteers are teaming up with the Department of Public Health to provide free health services for women that include blood pressure checks, body mass index calculations, blood sugar checks (for the first 100 women), HIV screening, clinical breast exams (in the DPH mobile clinic), enrollment/referrals for mammograms for women ages 40 and above through the Breast & Cervical Screening Program, information about healthy nutrition, physical activity, and body weight guidelines, and ways to improve quality of life and reduce cancer risk.

Women who sign up for mammograms (if ages 40 above) or clinical breast exams (if ages 21 above) will also receive gift certificates for fresh fruits and vegetables from the Sabalu Market.
