Suspended sentences for 3 who sold alcohol to minors

Three persons accused of selling alcoholic beverages to minors in separate cases have pleaded guilty in the Superior Court.

Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja accepted the guilty plea entered by defendants Ketang Feng, Yi Meng Chen, and Cai Zhan.

Naraja sentenced each defendant to three days in prison, all suspended.

Feng, Chen, and Zhan were placed on six months probation and required to pay a $100 fine, $25 court fee, and $60 probation fee.

The three pleaded guilty to selling alcohol to an underage person who is not in immediate possession of an identification card as part of a plea deal. The remaining charge of selling alcohol to underage person was dropped.

According to the agreement, Feng, Chen, and Zhan sold alcoholic beverages to minors on April 21, April 30, and April 15, 2011, respectively.
