Disabilities are a natural part of the human experience
This is an open invitation to the people of Saipan. This Saturday at Pacific Islands Club, we the coalition of the Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities, University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, Northern Marianas Protection and Advocacy Systems Inc., Trankilu Alternative Financing Program, and the Autism Society of the Northern Marianas Islands are putting on an Autism Awareness Conference for our Saipan community.
Please come and learn more about the history of disability rights in America, our programs, and autism. Autism does not discriminate. It affects all people from all over the world. This is a worldwide phenomenon. More and more children are being diagnosed with autism and in fact in the United States, it was reported this year by the Center for Disease Control that one in 88 among 8-year-olds has a form of autism spectrum disorder.
Please come and learn how disabilities are a natural part of the human experience. Registration begins at 8:30am. The conference begins at 9am and is expected to end at 2pm on Saturday, May 12, 2012. This will include lunch as well.
