Last weekend’s race is the third of a series of events aimed at preparing local athletes for the 2012 XTERRA Saipan Championship and 2012 Tagaman Triathlon.

Next Saturday, athletes are invited to join the Marianas Coffee Trail Run, which will be the last pre-XTERRA/Tagaman event of the month.

Then next month, the second of a series of XTERRA/Tagaman Enticer will be held on Feb. 4, followed by the Northern Passage bike race on Feb. 12, XTERRA Trail Run 2 on Feb. 18, and the Saipan Swim Club Meek and Mighty Swim on Feb. 25.

For March, four more events will be held before XTERRA and Tagaman. First up is the Festival of Races, which will have a marathon, half marathon, and 10K, and will all take place on March 3. The third and last XTERRA/Tagaman Enticer is scheduled for March 10, while XTERRA and Tagaman courses pre-rides will be held on March 17 and 18, respectively. The last two weeks of March will be for XTERRA (March 24) and Tagaman (March 31). XTERRA and Tagaman entries are raffled off in selected warm-up events.

Entrance fees for the Enticers and Tagaman/XTERRA swim and rides are only $5 and all proceeds will go to Tagaman, Inc. Other events have their separate registration fees.
