James Libut, of top-ranked Grace Christian Academy, leaps up for a spike in Monday's MISO boys volleyball match against Marianas High School's KFC Fins at the MHS Gymnasium. (Walter Sutherland) After starting its season with three straight losses, Kagman High School finally broke into the win column four times as the Marianas Interscholastic Sports Organization boys volleyball season continued at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

KHS swept Saipan Southern High School (2-4) on Friday and rolled on against MHS’ KFC (0-6) Fins on Saturday.

Then on Monday, KHS went through both MHS’ Awesome Fins (2-5) and QT’s (3-4) squads.

KHS swept the Awesome Fins, 25-10, 25-17, and 15-7 in its first match and improved its win-loss record to 4-3 after rallying against the QT’s, 16-25, 25-17, 15-10.

It was a so-so chain of events for the QT’s which pulled out a nice win over sister team Awesome Fins on Saturday, before being swept by second-ranked Saipan International School (6-1), 18-25, 17-25, and 12-15 on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Grace Christian Academy Eagles moved into the top spot after dethroning SIS, two sets to one, over the weekend.

Then on Monday, GCA improved its unbeaten streak to seven in a row after brushing off MHS’ winless KFC Fins (0-7) in all three sets, 25-10, 25-17, and 15-4.

The season continues at the MHS Gym at 4pm today with SIS taking on SSHS on the north court, while the Awesome Fins square off against the QT’s on the south end. Then at 5pm, KHS takes on the KFC Fins on the north side, while SIS tries to settle the score with GCA on the south court.
