Xerox Saipan unveils newest products in open house
Xerox Saipan opened its doors on June 8 for an open house that welcomed the company’s newest staff and introduced its two latest products in the market.
Nola K. Hix was officially introduced as company’s new service & solutions executive, joining Mark James, senior customer service engineer, and Jeniseann Cruz-Rideb, administrative assistant.
Hix came aboard the Xerox Saipan family only in February, replacing Faythe Wiseman who retired after 29 years of service last December 2011.
“They’re big heels to fill,” Hix said in an interview when asked how she feels about taking the place of Wiseman. “She’s made her presence here on Saipan, having done it for so long. It’s definitely a great opportunity for me and I want to grow with technology.”
To prepare for her new career, Hix went through three months of training, including a two-week training in Virginia. Even then, Hix says she is still learning the ins and outs of Xerox and its multitude of products and services. “I’m excited to do more and learn more,” Hix told Saipan Tribune. “I hope to represent Xerox and move ahead with the future.”
According to Hix, Xerox is an established global name that has captured about 80 percent of the local market, including most federal agencies, law firms, government offices, and private banks for its security features, which are only among its many advantages.
Meg Tyquiengco, general manager for Xerox Guam & Micronesia, has nothing but praise for Hix. “She…has high energy, is great with customers, and a fast learner,” said Tyquiengco, adding that Hix will receive a lot of technical training from Xerox offices in Guam and Hawaii as she handles her new responsibilities.
Latest in 7100 and 7500 series
The open house also highlighted two of Xerox’s newest color printers, which have been available on island since last year.
According to Hix, a lot of their customers are “afraid” of having color printers because of cost issues. She noted, though, that Xerox’s latest models have security features that give customers control on who could use the full features of the color printer.
“With Xerox, security is definitely at the forefront,” said David Ariyoshi, office solutions specialist out of the Hawaii office, who led the presentation of the Xerox® WorkCentre® 7120 and 7545.
Ariyoshi said both models reduce costs, increase business productivity, and allow any company to be competitive and stay focused.
“We’re coming up with solutions since half a century ago to make the world simpler and focused on what really matters,” he said.
The WorkCentre®7120 can print and copy up to 20ppm, both in color and black and white, has powerful scan and fax capabilities, robust security features, and space-saving footprint. It is also Xerox’s entry level of A3 device, which means it can print in 11×17 paper.
The WorkCentre® 7545 is included in the 7500 series, which are among Xerox’s more popular devices for its “wide range of speed.” Besides its ability to print up to 45 ppm both in color and black and white, this model has a lot of standard and optional features in terms of paper output/finishing, scanning, faxing, and security.
Hix pointed out that Xerox Saipan is “most flexible” in terms of its leasing options.
For her part, Tyquiengco said that while they have a lot of upgraded machines with enhanced functionality and additional features, Xerox still makes it a point to learn about their customers and their workflow to ensure that all their needs are met.
“We try to go after your needs to make your business run better. It’s amazing what we can do for you and part of it is just to ask, too. Ask what we can do for you and we’ll answer it. We’ll give you options,” she added.
