13th Summer Eco-Camp begins next week
Marianas Trekking will be holding its annual Summer Eco-Adventure Camp, offering children the chance to take advantage of the undeveloped beauty of the northern part of Saipan.
This marks the 13th year for the camp, which is open to children 4 to 15 years old, locals and tourists, and will run in two week sessions starting Monday, June 11, until Aug. 3.
The Summer Eco-Adventure Camp will provide a fun, interactive, and educational environment for young vacationers to learn, share, and play with a low student-to-instructor ratio.
Facilities for the camp include swimming pools, a golf course, soccer fields, snorkel and kayak beach, go kart track, stables, tennis court, and buffet lunch option.
The camp program consists of swimming lessons, go kart, kayaking, snorkeling, volleyball, mountain biking, movie making, golf, field games and trips, arts & crafts, dance, and much more.
The Summer Eco-Adventure Camp will be held at the Mariana Resort & Spa from 9am to 3pm, with complimentary extended care up to 5pm.
“It’s not only the best place for local kids to spend the summer and make some new friends, but it’s also a great place for tourists’ kids to have fun and explore Saipan,” said Marianas Trekking manager Elly Stoilova.
Stoilova said participants will be grouped according to age and each group will have counselors who will interact with them throughout the day.
Usually, she said, local participants sign up for two-week sessions while visiting campers join for shorter sessions.
“The kids will have activities in the ocean or pool at least once a day, and the organizers also plan indoor activities as well so there is a good balance in the schedule,” added Stoilova.
Local children can avail of the special price of $30 per day, $125 per week or $195 per session, which is equivalent to two weeks.
Stoilova noted that participants have the option to bring their own midday meal, although they can be provided with a buffet lunch at the resort for an additional $6 per day.
