Matansa U12, Tan Holdings U12 advance to finals
Matansa Football Club U12 and Tan Holdings Football Club U12 will duel for the championship of the NMIFA Cup boys and girls U12 division after turning back separate opponents last Wednesday at the Hopwood Junior High School field.
Matansa took on Shirley’s Football Club U12 and outlasted their fellow semifinalist, 2-1. Josh De Leon and Ronnel Ocanada accounted for the two goals of Matansa, while the lone net stab by Shirley’s was courtesy of Edwin Kim.
In the other semifinals, Tan Holdings shut out Matansa’s U15 girls team, 2-0, to advance to the title game.
Louie Bryle Calayag found the back of the net twice for Tan Holdings, first hitting pay dirt in the 24th minute before putting the game out of reach of Matansa’s U15 girls with another goal in the 44th minute.
[B]Women’s League[/B]In the 2012 Women’s 11 Aside, Shirley’s FC nipped Paire FC, 1-0, on a goal from Charlene Lizardo in the 69th minute.
The other women’s 11 game resulted in a forfeit in favor of MP United as Matansa FC didn’t had enough players.
[B]Men’s League[/B]In the 2012 Men’s Spring League, Tan Holdings FC and Wild Bill’s scored wins, while Sky and MP United finished in a draw.
Tan Holdings beat Inter FC, 3-1, with Joe Miller nearly completing a hat trick. He scored the game’s first goal in the 8th minute and added another seven minutes later.
It would be 3-0 when Jun Jie Cui struck in the 52nd minute before Inter averted a shutout when Peter Loken scored in the 81st.
Wild Bill’s, meanwhile, threw everything but the kitchen sink on Shirley’s FC and won in a lopsided score of 6-0.
Scoring goals for Wild Bill’s were Jeeraphong Thoensaket (twice), Lar Wangpaya, Thanyakorn Konkoed, Ian Iimov, and Norman Camacho.
Sky and MP, meanwhile, matched each other’s goals and went home tied. Zheng Xu scored two goals for Sky, while Young Ha Huang and Ja Hyun Lee accounted for the other two.
Jehn Joyner, meanwhile, completed a hat trick for MP United with Yishan Wang credited for the other goal.
