Consulate sets next health screening on June 3
The Philippine Consulate General on Saipan, with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, will be hosting the 2nd Quarter free health screening for Filipino workers next Sunday, June 3.
A collaborative effort with the Filipino Volunteer Medical Team, CNMI Pharmacist Association, Hardt Eye Clinic, and other volunteers from the Filipino community, the health screening program is aimed at increasing the level of awareness on diabetes prevention and control, hypertension prevention, and eye/vision pressure correction among Filipinos in the Commonwealth.
“Through this project, the Philippine Consulate General hopes to reach more and serve even if in a modest way, the medical needs, while fostering the spirit of volunteerism in the true spirit of Filipino bayanihan [on] Saipan,” said Consul General Medardo Macaraig.
Registration for the event, to be held at the ground floor of the Marianas Business Plaza in Susupe, starts at 6:30am while the activity will go on from 7am to noon.
Medical services to be provided are blood pressure and blood sugar level screenings as well as eye vision checkups. Those who will avail of blood sugar level screening should refrain from any solid and liquid intake from midnight prior to actual testing until after blood samples have been obtained at the event.
