[B]Volunteers needed to paint Tanapag center[/B]

The Inetnon Amot yan Kutturan Natibu/Mwiischil Safey me Kkoor Aramasal Faluw, in partnership with the Office of the Mayor of Saipan and the Tanapag Parish Council, is looking for volunteers to help paint the Tanapag Community Center (across from the Tanapag Church) this Saturday, May 19, 2012, from 8am to 4pm. Paints and brushes will be provided, but you may bring your own paint brush. Lunch will also be provided.

With the new look and a little renovation at the Center, the Tanapag Community Center will also be a part-time Chamorro-Carolinian village cultural center where traditional Chamorro and Carolinian knowledge and practices may be taught on some Saturdays throughout the year.

Funding for the painting and renovation of the Tanapag Community Center was provided in part by a grant from the Administration for Native Americans, an agency under the Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department Health and Human Services, to the Inetnon Amot yan Kutturan Natibu/Mwiilschil Safey me Kkoor Aramasal Faluw. [B]29th Agricultural Fair coming up[/B]

The Saipan Agricultural Fair Association is inviting the public to the 29th Agricultural Fair scheduled for Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the Sabalu Market Grounds.

There will also be a proclamation signing on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 9am at the Sabalu Market Grounds, designating the week of May 20 to 26 as “Simanan Lanchero.” (PR)

[B]Marines, Air Force, Navy training on FDM[/B]

The U.S. Marine Corps, Air Force and Navy is conducting training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla today May 18, from 8am to 11pm. The public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators—are advised to stay clear from the area. The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla training area will be on a 10 nautical mile radius on all quadrants. (PR)

[B]Chamber to host currency training[/B]

The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will host a Credit Card and Currency Training session, presented by U.S. Secret Service trainers, on June 4, 2012, at 2pm.

As a result of a number of incidents recently where counterfeit currency has been seized in Guam and on Saipan, the U.S. Secret Service will be visiting Saipan to conduct a number of sessions for one day only, June 4, 2012.

SCC will notify all SCC Members of the location for the training sessions as we approach June 4, and will provide all other details. At this time, the training sessions would be made available to Chamber Members at no cost. There would be a nominal attendance fee for non-Members. (SCC)

[B]Sr. Remedios registration schedule[/B]

The Sr. Remedios Early Childhood Development Center announces the registration for the next school year 2012-2013 beginning on April 2 to May 31. From April 2 to May 31 the registration fee is $75. [B]FOA membership meeting[/B]

The Friends of the Arts will have its final membership meeting of the year at the Marianas Resort at its outdoor La Stella Restaurant on Tuesday evening, May 22, beginning at 6:30pm. Enjoy a delicious menu and great entertainment provided by FOA and the award-winning MHS Glee Club with more performers to be added.

The cost of the meal for members and their families will be $15 for adults and young adults 12 and above, $8 for youngsters 5 up to 11, and no cost for the little ones 4 and younger. [B]Discounted rates offered for Zumba class at NMC[/B]

The Northern Marianas College through the Community Development Institute is offering discounted rates for individuals who wish to take a short-term Zumba course that begins today, May 18, 2012.

The fee for the Zumba course has been reduced to $45 per individual if participants refer one individual to register for the course, which equates to $5 per class session. This discount will also be given to the individuals referred. However, the course fee is $90 for those who do not refer others to take the course.

The Zumba course will continue every Monday and Friday until the last day on June 15, 2012. The schedule is 5pm to 6pm at the NMC As Terlaje campus.
