It’s been a memorable tournament so far for the CNMI U14 National Team currently seeing action in the AFC U-14 Boys’ Festival of Football for East Asia in Beijing, China.

Last Wednesday, the Commonwealth strikers pulled off a 2-0 victory against Chinese-Taipei during their second game in Day 1 of the four-day competition.

Then on Thursday, the CNMI U14 Team prevailed over Macau, 1-0, and led the favored host China before settling for a draw, 1-1, in the later match.

Aside from Chinese-Taipei, Macau, and China, the CNMI also dueled South Korea and Guam in Day 1 of the youth tournament and although the Commonwealth players failed to win, they held their ground on defense, allowing their foes to score only two goals each.
