MPU routs Tan Holdings in girls U15 league, 7-0

MP United FC had a smooth sailing in Week 6 of the girls U15 division of the 2012 NMIFA Youth Spring League, following a 7-0 demolition of Tan Holdings FC last Saturday at the Hopwood Junior High School Field.

Negahr Rastguiy, Gabrielle Race, and Jamie Mariano teamed up in MP United’s easy win with the former scoring a hat-trick. Race and Mariano added two goals apiece to improve MP United’s record to 3-3-0 (win-draw-loss) and keep the team in second place in the five-squad field.

Race drew first blood for MP United, while Rastguiy drilled three straight goals in the first half for their 4-0 halftime lead. Mariano started the second half with her first goal, while Race got her second one and the former ended the game with another goal.

Tan Holding’s has yet to break into the win column, as it absorbed its fifth loss in six games.

[B]Shirley’s FC 3, Paire 1[/B]

Pacesetter Shirley’s FC got its fourth win in five games after beating Paire.

Marielle Gariguez made twin goals for Shirley’s FC, which was awarded the third goal off a Paire error. All Shirley’s goals were recorded in the second half.

Paire took a 1-0 lead at the break after Adela Saralu found the back of the net midway in the first half, but Shirley’s regrouped in the second half to foil the former’s upset bid.

Paire fell to a 1-2-3 record for fourth place behind Matansa (2-1-1), MP United, and Shirley’s FC (4-1-0).
[B] BOYS U18

Paire 3, Tan Holdings 1[/B]

Over at the Oleai Sports Complex Field, Paire won the lone game played in the boys U18 division, prevailing against Tan Holdings FC.

Thomas Lee had a pair for Paire, while the third goal was courtesy of a Tan Holdings miscue. The only player to score for Tan Holdings was not listed in the official match report.

Paire improved to a 4-0-3 card for second place behind MP United (7-0-0), while Tan Holdings fell to a 2-1-5 record for the No. 3 spot in the four-team field.

MP United had a free ride en route to its seventh win after a no-show from Matansa in the first match last Saturday. Matansa dropped to a 0-1-6 record.
