A question for the Commission on Election
Hafa Adai Mr. Guerrero and the CNMI Commission on Election: We are writing this letter to request for your assistance. We are trying to register all CNMI residents we know in the United States (Texas, Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, etc.) to vote this coming CNMI election. Our question is, can we submit all the applications to register to vote that we had gathered in one envelope and send it to the CNMI Commission on Election? We had instructed all the individuals we helped to send their applications to your office, but they have requested for us to send their applications to the CNMI Commission on Election. We will give all individuals with their applications an envelope and they will secure their applications within the envelope. We will put all the envelopes (applications) in one big express envelope and route it to your office.
Mr. Guerrero, may you please authorize our organization to forward the applications to your office? We had passed out applications to register to vote for our CNMI residents in the United States in past CNMI elections, but they were not privy to how and where to send their applications. The applications they got from us in the past were not properly handled and ended up not being sent to you for processing.
The Saipan Tinian Student Association & CNMI Absentee Organization’s missions in the United States are to inform our CNMI residents and help them participate in our election process. Also we communicate with our people and we give them assistance with issues affecting them in the United States (welfare, home loans, home foreclosures, job placement, etc.) We are in the process of applying for a 501 c4 (politically motivated organization) with the federal government for our organization and our main offices will be located in Fresno, California and Kagman II, Saipan.
We have processed over five applications or more in Texas and we will be processing more this coming weekend. We are going to be processing applications in California during the month of May and in Washington State during the CNMI residents’ gathering in June. We are waiting for your response so we can start forwarding the applications to your office. Your favorable response is appreciated.
