Police arrested over the weekend on Saipan two men in connection with separate domestic violence cases.

Kwi Dong Woo, 54, and Carlos A. Ramangmou, 22, were taken to the Superior Court yesterday morning for bail hearings.

Woo was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, criminal mischief, and disturbing the peace. Ramangmou was apprehended for assault and battery and disturbing the peace.

Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo imposed a $6,500 cash bail for Woo and $500 cash bail for Ramangmou.

Police detective Melissa Bauleong stated in her report that Woo and his former wife had an argument Thursday at her residence in Garapan.

Woo allegedly choked the victim and threw a plastic chair at her. The victim was not hit, but the chair shattered a glass window.

The victim took their two minor children and ran to call the police.

In the case against Ramangmou, police detective JB Cepeda stated in his report that the defendant slapped the face of his common-law wife during an argument at their house in Susupe on Friday.

The victim threw a piece of sausage at the defendant’s face and ran to his parents’ room to tell them to call the police.
