Division of Fish and Wildlife Conservation Officers arrested Tuesday night in Kagman an ex-convict for allegedly catching an endangered green sea turtle.

During the search at the residence of defendant Alex K. Borja, Conservation Officers allegedly seized one turtle carapace, turtle meat and bone, cooking pot, Trochus shells, and marijuana plants.

At yesterday’s hearing, the Superior Court temporarily released Borja.

Conservation Officer John Tagabuel stated in his report that, on Monday a conservation officer received a call from a concerned citizen reporting Borja’s possession and harvesting of a green sea turtle.

Tagabuel said they met the concerned citizen who confirmed that he saw the turtle on top of a table and tied with a rubber outside Borja’s residence on Sunday.

Tagabuel said the concerned citizen reported that he had seen Borja in possession of green sea turtles on four other occasions.

The conservation officers then obtained a search warrant from Superior Court associate judge Kenneth L. Govendo.
