Logan Mister duplicated the feat of his father, Tyce, when the former won his age group division in last Saturday’s Taga Kids Triathlon.

Logan prevailed in the 9 to 12 age group race, completing the event held in the waters off Micro Beach and around the American Memorial Park in 28:08, more than two minutes ahead of Cole Chambers (30:39). Logan’s victory came on the same day his father, Tyce, topped the 45 to 49 age group of the Tagaman Triathlon and was his second in a row as he ruled the same division last year with a time of 30:22, also against Chambers (33:32).

Joining Logan and Chambers in the Top 3 of the boys 9 to 12 division were Naoki Kasai and Lennosuke Suzuki, who posted identical times of 32:11. Three others competed in the division with Rinto Takahashi coming in at fourth with his 33:58 and Michael Thomas Villagomez and Ichiro Horimoto tied at fifth (36:13).

In the girls 9 to 12 division, Karen Sato defeated Maya Shimizu. Sato finished the race in 39:07, more than seven minutes ahead of Shimizu, who logged 46.48.

Other age group winners in the Taga Kids were Rintaro Miyawaki and Conatsu Kaga of the 6 to 8 division.

Miyawaki ruled the boys division with his combined time of 15:25, less than a minute faster than Akira Kadokura, who submitted 16:16. Taka Horimoto rounded out the Top 3 with his 16:57.

The boys 6 to 8 age group drew the most participants in the weekend’s race, as 12 others competed against the Top 3 finishers. Michail Jesus Villagomez was among them and placed fourth with a time of 17:13, followed by Alexander Bateman (17:24), Blake Mister (17:48), Kaito Nishimura 918:18), Jack Linden (18:29), Leo Takahashi (19:03), Jinnosuke Suzuki (20:11), Miles Linden (20:45), Dylan Mister (21:16), Louis Henley (21:16), and Khush Daryanani (22:05).

In the girls 6 to 8, Conatsu Kaga edged younger sister Coume after the former completed the race in 17:05 against the 18:04 of the latter. Soleil Lamar timed in at 18:24 to join the Kaga sisters in the Top 3. Also finishing the event were Yuna Nakagawa (19:16), Aika Watanabe (21:39), and Maya Sato (21:43).

The Taga Kids course began with a 100m swim race in the waters off Micro Beach for the 6 to 8 age group and 200m for the 9 to 12. Then in the bike course, the younger age group participants went to as far as the flag circle at the AMP compound and back to the transition area for the run leg, which was up to the bell tower and back to Micro Beach. In the 9 to 12 division, bikers headed to as far as the Army Reserve before heading back to Micro Beach for the run leg, which was around the paved walkway at the park.

Medals were awarded to the Top 3 finishers, while all participants received gifts from Marianas Visitors Authority.
