A few suggestions
My fellow people of the CNMI, What has become of our beautiful home? We used to be a people of honor, respect and integrity; we used to be able to trust the leaders that we voted into position to lead us in the right way; the prosperous way. All of a sudden we give a second chance to a person that we can see has no other intentions other then filling his associates and his own pockets. We see the devastation that it has done to our islands yet we sit back and watch it all happen.
Look at the devastation that has happened under the Fitial administration and let us come together and find a way to make the CNMI prosperous again. How should we do this, you ask. Well here are a few suggestions:
First we should make the healthcare corporation be run by a board and not just one man, especially a hypocrite. I say he is a hypocrite because when he first took the job he himself said we needed to change the culture of how we run the hospital. Yet the first thing he does is hire his cousin as head of the Medical Supply Office and got rid of the local biomedical agency that has done a great job over there for more then 10 years and gave it to a Guam-based biomedical agency without any bidding (is this legal?).
Secondly we should cut down our Legislature and make it unicameral. But to make it a fair representation of the people we should have each person running voted by the CNMI as a whole rather then by precinct. That way we can make sure that they have the people’s interest at heart and not their own.
And lastly I suggest we have elected officials for positions that deal with the public such as the Attorney General and DPS Commissioner. This way we can know that their services are to really protect and serve the entire community and not just a select few.
Lastly I end with a quote by Dirk Kempthorne: “Government alone cannot solve the problems we deal with in our correctional facilities, treatment centers, homeless shelters and crisis centers—we need our faith-based and community partners.”
