Power outage for Kagman, Papago

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. said yesterday that there will be a two-hour power outage on Thursday, March 22, 2012, from 9am to 11am. The areas that will be affected are the intersection of the Isa Drive and Kagman Road (Kagman Mobil gas station) to the Kagman Homesteads and south on Isa Drive to the Botanical Garden.
The purpose of the interruption is to de-energize the primary lines and provide the GPPC Inc. personnel safety as they install the new traffic light pole on Isa Drive in front of the Kagman Mobil gas station. In addition, CUC linemen will also be connecting a new air break switch on Isa Drive south of the gas station. The air break switch will provide linemen the ability to isolate problematic areas or energize from a different electrical feeder circuit, minimizing the number of customers inconvenienced during future repairs or maintenance on the electrical system. Line clearing will also be performed by a separate crew on the primary lines near the project site.
Because of the scale of the work that will be performed, travelers are asked to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the affected areas.[B][I] (CUC)[/I][/B]
