NMC Open golf tourney set for April 21

In its effort to advance post secondary education in the CNMI, the Northern Marianas College Foundation has announced that its signature event, the 10th Annual NMC Foundation Open Golf Tournament, will be held on April 21 on the west course of the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.

The NMC Foundation is composed of community volunteers committed to elevating higher education opportunities for CNMI students. All proceeds from the tournament will be used to support NMC’s educational programs and services.

“It’s great that the NMC Foundation Open has built a loyal following of golfers and supporters who are dedicated to helping the College,” said NMC Foundation president Ivan Quichocho. “We are very grateful for their continued support and look forward to seeing them on the golf course this April.”

“The NMC Foundation encourages golfers who have not played in the Foundation Open before to join us this year,” Quichocho added. “All funds raised will help our students meet their educational goals, which is a win-win situation for everyone.”

Entrance fee for the tournament is only $95 per player. Interested players are also invited to bring their family, friends, and playing partners for a fantastic day of fun and fundraising for a good cause. There will be six separate flight categories: Championship, A, B, C, Seniors, and Ladies.

With a shotgun start at 7am, the tournament is a medal play format. In addition to first, second, and third place prizes for the different flights, the tournament will also award hole-in-one prizes. The lucky golfer who makes a hole-in-one shot at the designated sites will win significant prizes donated by the tournament’s sponsors.

The NMC Foundation is also asking companies or individuals who can contribute Education Tax Credit, monetary, or in-kind donations to sponsor the tournament. A special sponsors’ reception will be held on April 18. Registration forms are available at Marianas Country Club, Saipan Country Club, Dan Dan Golf Range, Kingfisher Golf Links, Coral Ocean Point, and All Star Sporting Goods. Payments for the registration fee can be made at Laolao Bay Golf Resort, Triple J Motors, and the NMC Cashier. [B][I](PR)[/I][/B]
