Over 120 foreign investors gather on Saipan

Over 120 potential investors mainly from China, Hawaii, and California will be on Saipan for a three-day business conference starting tomorrow, said the Saipan Chamber of Commerce which is welcoming and assisting participants.

Douglas Brennan, president of the Chamber of Commerce, said representatives from an international religious-based business fellowship approached the Chamber for assistance in conducting this conference.

Brennan was referring to the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International.

“We met with Lt. Governor (Eloy) Inos for planning purposes, and SCC is pleased that so many have chosen to visit Saipan to consider investment opportunities,” Brennan said.

Roy Ying, USA national director of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International, will open the Saipan conference at the Aqua Resort Club on Friday at 6pm.

The Chamber said Gov. Benigno R. Fitial and Lt. Gov. Eloy S. Inos have been requested to speak at the opening ceremonies at Aqua Resort Club on March 16 and the closing ceremonies at the Pacific Islands Club on March 18.

The Fitial administration confirmed yesterday that Inos will be speaking at the closing ceremonies.

Richard A. Pierce, Chamber executive director, is scheduled to welcome the businessmen at the conference opening.

The Chamber said the three-day conference will include presentations by Peter Wagner, dean of Wagner Leadership Institute; Fuli Liu, dean of USA logos Evangelical Seminary; Zhonghui Chen, dean of USA Agape International Leadership Institute; and other guest speakers.

Conference participants will be traveling to Saipan from many China provinces, as well as Los Angeles, California.

The Chamber said island tours, shopping and meetings with CNMI officials and the Saipan Chamber of Commerce to discuss investment opportunities in the CNMI have been scheduled throughout the three days.

The Chamber said the public is welcome to attend the conference opening and closing ceremonies on March 16 and March 18. Dinners are scheduled both evenings—6pm on March 16 at Aqua Resort Club, and 5pm on March 18 at PIC. Dinner and ceremonies are $30 each evening. Tickets are available at the doors both evenings, the Chamber said.
