DUI sobriety checkpoints on March 16 and 17

The Commonwealth State Police, Department of Public Division, Traffic Investigation Unit will be conducting DUI/sobriety checkpoints on the dates and time listed below:

[B]Friday, March 16[/B]

-First setup 6pm-7:15pm, Beach Road Susupe in front of the Minatchom Adtao

-Second set up 8:30-9:45pm, Chalan Pale Arnold, Gualo Rai in front of Coastal Resources Management (CRM) office.

-Third setup 10:30-11:45pm, Beach Road, Chalan Laulau adjacent to Dr. Benusto Kaipat’s residence.

[B]Saturday, March 17[/B]

-First setup 6-7:15pm, Chalan Monsignor Guerrero, Chalan Kiya by the CUC Waterloo.

-Second setup 8:30-9:45pm, Chalan Pale Arnold, Chalan Laulau in front of IT&E building.

-Third setup 10:30-11:45pm, Beach Road, Garapan across from Bank Pacific.

Each DUI/sobriety checkpoints will last at least 75 minutes (1hr.15mins). This activity is part of the Commonwealth State Police, DPS’ effort to deter, detect, and apprehend impaired drivers and to ensure that all vehicles occupants are protected. In addition, traffic investigators and highway patrol officers will conducting highway criminal interdictions, saturation, patrols, aggressive driver interdictions, and laser (speed detection) enforcement.
