Atalig was first introduced to the American Red Cross in 1995. Since then, this Disaster Action Team veteran has responded to numerous disasters that have taken place on Saipan and abroad like Typhoon Chata’an in Guam and Sept. 11 in New York. Atalig, who has one child and raised five, said that being a volunteer for ARC has been rewarding and a life-changing experience. “Helping those in distress is what I love to do,” Atalig said. “I am a better person today because of the experiences gained from volunteering with this organization.”
