JROTC cadets help diocese prepare for All Souls Day

(Contributed Photo) The Saipan Southern High School’s Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps cadets helped the Mt. Carmel Diocese on Saturday morning, Oct. 15, 2011, prepare for the upcoming of All Souls Day this November.

The cadets collected several weathered wreaths, damaged candles, old flowers, trash, and debris covering several graves at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Chalan Kanoa.

The SSHS JROTC group consisted of over 59 cadets and volunteers. They will have another cleanup this Saturday, focusing on the other part of the cemetery. The group encourages the community to volunteer for the next cleanup to make the cemetery a suitable place for visiting loved ones this November.
