Norwegian tourist falls prey to burglar at Ladder Beach

A car rented by a Norwegian tourist was burglarized at Ladder Beach Wednesday morning.
Police officer Jason Tarkong confirmed the incident yesterday, but did not provide more information.
Saipan Tribune learned that the tourist had left his rented car to descend to Ladder Beach to do some sightseeing and take pictures.
When the tourist returned to the car, he noticed it had been broken into and some of his valuables had been stolen.
The Department of Public Safety is expected to release more details about the incident today, Friday.
On Tuesday, an unidentified man robbed an elderly Japanese couple who were playing golf at Mariana Country Club in Marpi.
The suspect, described as a local male and about 5’7” tall, ran off with the victims’ purse containing room keys, two pairs of sunglasses, and $300 worth of traveler’s checks.
Last Oct. 10, an unidentified man also robbed a 51-year-old local female who was with her daughter playing golf at Coral Ocean Point.
The suspect ran off with the victim’s purses that contained $700 cash that were left on the golf cart. The suspect and a companion fled the parking area aboard two three-wheeled motor scooters.
Last Oct. 11, an unidentified man armed with a screwdriver robbed a Russian female tourist and drove off with her rented car at Suicide Cliff in Marpi.
The tourist lost her bag containing over $100 cash, a digital camera worth $1,200, hotel keys, some documents, and other items.
The victim sustained bruises on her elbows after she fell to the ground during the struggle.
