The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will conduct its monthly general membership luncheon meeting today, March 7, 2012 at the Pacific Islands Club. Luncheon begins at 11:30am and the meeting commences at noon.

Speaking before the SCC membership will be James Stump, CIP project coordinating officer, from the Office of Management and Budget. Stump will offer a CIP grant status review and project report on numerous CNMI grants awarded the CNMI. These grants provide substantial funds that enter the CNMI economy on a number of project awards.

Also, speaking will be David J. Sablan, ESGR state chair of the Guam-CNMI Committee. Sablan will provide a brief overview of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Program he administers.

The general membership luncheon is $15 for SCC members, $20 for SCC guests and non-SCC attendees.

SCC is encouraging its membership and residents alike to be on the watch for those wishing a ride from Charlie Dock to downtown Garapan and tourist sites when the Queen Mary II arrives at Charlie Dock on March 15. The Queen Mary II carries over 4,000 aboard, and SCC welcomes all visitors to Saipan to shop, eat, and enjoy the island’s attractions. (SCC)
