In celebration of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. has scheduled awareness health walks for all Wednesdays of the month starting today.

The walk, sponsored by the Grace Christian Academy volleyball team, will start at 4:30pm at the Oleai Beach Pavilion up to the old Japanese tank across the Quartermaster Road and back.

Cervical Cancer Awareness Month Committee chair Kimberly Sablan said there will be free T-shirts or water bottles for the first 50 participants.

The Comprehensive Cancer Control Program and the Tobacco Prevention Program of the healthcare corporation will provide the giveaways.

Besides the health walks, Sablan said there are other activities lined up for the celebration of the Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, including celebrity bagging at the Joeten Store on Saturday and possibly outreach sessions in government offices.

Sablan encouraged the community to take part in the health walks. For more information, call 236-8728.
